Why FiberTite?

FiberTite provides building weatherproofing and protection to some of the world’s most powerful brands with an innovative, high performance coated fabric membrane that has a unique, four-layer technology providing puncture, chemical, and ponding water resistance.

Benefits Of FiberTite

The FiberTite Roofing System is an innovative, high performance coated fabric membrane. Its unique four-layer technology sets the performance standard in roofing with a proprietary, proven formula utilizing Elvaloy® Ketone Ethylene Ester (KEE), and provides unmatched puncture, chemical and UV resistance.

FiberTite roof benefits:

  • Superior puncture and tear resistance
  • Excellent chemical and UV resistance
  • Excellent flexibility to covering roof details
  • Roof membrane made from the industry’s heaviest base fabric

A Proven Track Record

FiberTite roofs can last 25+ years with minimal maintenance.  In 2012, the manufacturer of FiberTite randomly sampled a number of projects that had been using FiberTite for more than 25 years.

Below are some of the comments from building owners that participated in the study.

Rubbermaid, Inc.

Installation Date:  August, 1984

Rubbermaid Facilities and Environmental Engineer John Metzger said, over the years, Rubbermaid’s FiberTite roof installation has performed better than anyone expected.

“To me, there is no comparison between FiberTite and a built-up-roof,” he said. “Though we try to limit foot traffic, there is regular air conditioning maintenance and every once in a while something gets damaged, but we’ve never had a major problem with the roof.”

Sunrise Cove Yacht And Racquet Club

Installation Date: June, 1988

At this site in Florida, more than 20 years of blistering UV rays, potent heat and humidity, torrential rains, tropical storms and the occasional major hurricane prove to be no match for FiberTite.

“Sunrise Cove is located straight across the street from Turtle Beach,” said Tracy Buis, the manager now in charge of maintaining the roofs at Sunrise Cove. “There is a wind channel there and the roofs are wide open to the winds when they come. But even after being tested by the record-breaking hurricanes in 2004 and 2005, they’ve held up great. We didn’t have to do any repairs after those storms.”

Inn Maid Noodles

Installation Date: June, 1981

“The FiberTite product speaks for itself,” commented Dan Murphy, plant manager for Inn Maid Noodles. “We have it on all of our buildings and it has been a maintenance free product.”

A Sustainable Solution

FiberTite offers one of the most environmentally conscious roofing solutions for commercial buildings.

Longevity FiberTite is engineered to withstand severe weather, extreme temperatures and harsh chemicals. It is designed for durability and longevity. As such, the carbon footprint of the long lifecycle of these products is much lower than that of less durable options.
Cool Roof System FiberTite can be installed with certain colors and coatings that have a high solar reflectivity rating, enabling its users to produce a cool roof system. Installing a cool roofing system with high solar reflectivity and infrared emittance is an effective way to easily increase a building’s energy efficiency.
LEED Applications FiberTite installations can be found on a number of LEED-approved buildings nationwide. The LEED Green Building Rating System for New Construction promotes buildings that are not only environmentally responsible in their design, but sustainable and profitable in their operation, and healthy to live and work in.
Title 24 Compliant FiberTite Roofing Membranes Meet the Solar Reflectivity and Infrared Emittance Requirements of California Title 24.
Energy Star Leader FiberTite was one of the first roofing membranes labeled under the ENERGY STAR roofing products program.

Frequently Asked Questions

All FiberTite Roofing Membranes are constructed using high tenacity/heavy weight yarns to create a base fabric reinforcement to impart superior puncture, tensile and tear resistance properties. The base polyester fabrics are primed with a unique and  proprietary adhesive coat that lays the foundation to physically bond the KEE coatings to the “fiber” to maximize seam strength and overall membrane performance.

FiberTite is 5 times more puncture resistant than 50ml, 60ml, or 80ml TPO or PVC membranes.

Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) single-ply roofing membranes are among the fastest growing commercial roofing products and have gained praise across the industry for their many performance and installation advantages.

The foundation of FiberTite is 60 years of high-performance fabric technology.

FiberTite's 4-Layer technology synthesizes nearly twice as much fiber as competitors, and features a unique adhesive coat and a proprietary DuPont™ Elvaloy® KEE based formula.

As with other roofing materials, a FiberTite roof must be cleaned and maintained regularly. That way, it can perform well throughout its service life. Cleaning may be performed using a pressure washer and a cleaning solution.

FiberTite roofing is incredibly effective in resisting bacteria, debris, algae, and dirt, as well as ultraviolet and chemical exposure. In addition to its high resistance to debris build-up, FiberTite’s flexible membrane allows it to withstand punctures, tears, and impact damage.
